After a record year of weddings in 2022 our Head Stylist Alanah predicts what trends will influence weddings in 2023.
90’s and 00’s Influences.
2023 trends will continue to reference the 90’s and 00’s aesthetic. We will see 90’s bare, bias cut silhouettes in both wedding gowns and bridesmaids looks and spaghetti straps will make a comeback.
Barbiecore will give way for RomComcore with wedding guests, bridesmaids and hens party looks taking cues from the 90’s and 00’s rom com heroines. Think Bridal Stylist Hope Lavine in this liquid yellow number that could have come straight from the set of “How to lose a guy in 10 days”.

Gothic Glam.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are the perfect case study for this emerging trend of which we will see elements of trickle into even the most classic style of wedding. Think corset bodices, vintage lace trimming, ‘death do us part”, gloves and black details.

2023 Colours.
In 2023 we can expect to continue to see couples embracing colour for their weddings. Specifically, Blue and Pink continue to have a moment. Rust tones are also predicted to be a popular choice with Pinterest reporting over a 600% increase in searches for “Burnt orange wedding”.

Photography.
Couples will carve out time within their run sheets later in the evening for Flash Photography Shoots. In keeping with the continuing influence of 90’s and 00’s, Disposable Cameras on guest tables will trend with couples taking an opportunity to personalise the cameras themselves with wedding branding. Florals.
Petite vintage style bouquets of a single variety will be popular with couples this year along with chic single stem bouquets for both Brides and maids. Table and ceremony flowers and floral installations will continue to be grand, bold and impactful with 2023 couples choosing to play with different heights via the use of ground arrangements, varying sizes of vessels and plinths.

Bridal Fashion & Accessories.
Exaggerated 80’s bows will dominate in both accessories and bridal fashion. Expect to see bows everywhere from veils to shoes, mini dresses to hair accessories.
Engagement and Wedding rings will feature stones with bezel settings.
Personalised and statement veils will be a favourite with Brides. Embroidered quotes and dates will feature heavily. Of course, Bridal Gloves will continue to grace the arms of brides in 2023.

Food & Drink.
Immersive experiences such as Cocktail towers and Live cooking demonstrations will increase in popularity, offering catering as a form of entertainment for guests. Think live pasta stations, oysters shucked live on request and traditional Italian raspberry cakes piped and assembled throughout the reception with guests watching on.
