Why you should spend time planning your Wet Weather option.

It's not fun to consider that your wedding day will be any less than perfect but as our Head Stylist Alanah explains, a Wet Weather plan is an important one to make.

Wet Weather options are a worst case scenario, and in most cases you won’t actually need to put one into action however, if you do need to move ahead with a wet weather plan it's important that you are confident with your chosen plan and most importantly that you like it!

Waking up to rain on your wedding and realising that you actually hate your wet weather venue is crushing. For this reason, it is so important to spend some time with your partner thinking through the uncomfortable reality that you may need to put your wet weather plan into action. Ask your venue about wet weather options onsite and if there are any nearby alternatives that you could also consider. Make sure you don't settle for an option just because it is the easiest or dismiss it as a detail that “you probably won’t need anyway!”. Choose a wet weather venue that, although not your preference, you can still imagine getting married in.

Once you have chosen what your wet weather option is, make sure to also let you vendors know and ask if the change of venue will affect any of your plans and avoid any unwanted surprises and disappointments on the day.

Planning ahead and purchasing some back up accessories such as umbrellas, gumboots and a cute jacket before the big day will also save you (and your wedding party) any last minute stress or trips out to source these last minute. Ensuring you are armed with your back up accessories and a strong wet weather option that you like will ensure that even if it does rain on your day will be as stress free as possible!

It’s not all bad when it comes to a rainy wedding day. Rain can make for some of the most beautiful wedding photography. Talk with your photographer in the lead up to your wedding day about what changes you may need to make to your photo locations and shot list on the day. Again, planning this well in advance will ensure that should it rain on the day you know exactly what to expect.

As always your wedding day is about one thing - you and your partner and celebrating your love! The weather can’t change that! Your wedding is more than a venue; florals, decorations and music are what really create the atmosphere of the day. Spend time to select amazing vendors who know how to transform any space into a magic wedding venue and you’ll guarantee yourself the perfect wedding day, no matter the weather forecast.
