It's important you nail your vows. After all, they are your opportunity to express your love for each other and make promises for your marriage together.
It's good to start simple! Have a page in your notes in your phone, ready to jot down any thoughts for your vows as they come to you through the days. Think about how much you love your partner and what you want to tell them on your wedding day. Do this without much thought, note the first things that come to mind. This list of little handy notes will come in handy when you are ready to sit down and write your vows in full.

Once you are ready to write out your final version, we recommend holding them in some beautiful vow books. Matching vow books are a wonderful detail and make your photos look polished. You can shop the range of vow books we have available here.

No matter how prepared you are or how much you think about your vows, many a wedding vow is written the night before! Be sure to write your vows at least a few days before so you can take your time, reread, make edits and be really happy with what you want to say. After all this will be the start of the rest of your marriage, so make sure they are special, heartwarming, loving and honest. Not only this, but it also means there is one less task and worry the night before your wedding day.
Practice makes perfect, and reading your vows out loud before the day will ensure you are comfortable with the flow and sound of your speech, helping with those public speaking jitters on the day.
Another good thing to keep in mind, and although you may have a video of your ceremony is keeping a copy of your vows as a keepsake, especially if they are  hand written. Our beautiful vendor Jean Bird Calligraphy does beautiful hand written calligraphy of your wedding vows/poems, which can be found here
