Your big day has a big build up. So much planning and anticipation goes into this one day that is all about you and your Lover. Some couples are filled with relief following their weddings but others find themselves experiencing the post-wedding blues as they experience a withdrawal from all the love and excitement of the planning and the day.
Post wedding blues are completely normal, in fact most couples will experience it following their wedding once normal day to day life kicks in. There are some simple things you can do to help curb the post wedding blues.
Leave a Honeymoon buffer.
Leaving yourself a bit of time between your wedding and leaving for your honeymoon will give you something almost as exciting to look forward to when you are feeling a bit down that your day is over and help to ease into your newly married life.
Have some exciting plans in your future that you can look forward to.
This can be anything you and your Lover are excited for. A new dog? Planning a family? An overseas trip? Renovating? Buying a house? Cooking lessons? It doesn't matter what it is, having something to look forward to will help keep the post wedding blues at bay.
Talk it through with your Lover.
Lean on your Lover if you are experiencing the post wedding blues. It might feel silly to be experiencing them but you have spent a large part of your time over the last 6 to 18 months planning your wedding.
